Obama Shows Leadersip, Withdraws from Durban II.
DFI-LA lauds Obama's decision to withdraw from Durban II on account of the unbridled Anti-Israel and Anti-Semitic bent of the conference.
Obama tried in good faith to steer the conference on the right course, but the E.U and U.S. alone could not pull Durban from the obsessive path set by proponents more interested in scoring political points than bringing the world together.
With genocide in Darfur and race-based discrimination against indigenous peoples in countries throughout the world, focusing on Israel, a country that has a court and legal system that protects minorities is an artificiality for another purpose.
In the end, Obama and the U.S. was wise to pull out, as was Italy and other nations that will follow. But we also commend Obama for trying in good faith to set things back on track.
